What to write about
- Corrections. If a date letter, assay mark or maker attribution on this site is wrong, tell us. Include the page and, if you have one, the source that contradicts us. Corrections are the most useful mail we get.
- Identification questions. We cannot value your piece by email and we do not offer appraisals. If you send photographs of marks we may use the case anonymously to improve a reference table.
- App feedback. Bugs, wrong readings, or a mark the app failed on. A photo of the mark helps more than a description.
- Press and partnerships. Happy to answer questions about how photo-based hallmark identification works and where it fails.
- Privacy requests. Anything about the data described in our privacy policy.
What we cannot do
We are not appraisers. We do not give valuations of specific objects, authenticate pieces for insurance or sale, or act as an intermediary between buyers and sellers. For anything you believe is valuable, a qualified appraiser or auction specialist is the right call — see About for why.
